I just want to say that it is the weekend before Halloween and the festivities in Salem are really getting excited. It is so spooky that even the pit bulls are scared! I am worshipping at the alter of Henri Cartier Bresson and “The Decisive Moment!”
Dear David, we just came back from the memorial gatherings for Shinya Inoue in Woods Hole.
And you were mentioned often in the speeches. And missed very much. Kip had invited us to
his house the night before for dinner. The conversation between Butch, Dan …, Kip and Jan was animated, about many things beside microscopy. I had hoped to see you there and to be able to thank you for the Hati and Skoll blogs that I receive now, though Jan had often sent them to me before.
I then learned that you lost your wife this year(?). I am so sorry to hear that. I can imagine the loneliness that you must feel now.
We think of you and send our thoughts to you.
